This is the second book in the Always series and I have to say, WINNER! I loved it! the writing and the plot was so nice. I can't complain one bit. I absolutely adored Dean in the first book and to read his story was so great! He and Riker were amazing together.But, Oh my poor feelings! Lol Daniel, how I loved you so much and who would have guessed at that turn of events? I was in tears reading the letter. I especially loved when Jax and Riker bonded before they went back to check up on Dean. Can we have a Clare and Jax romance? They are super cute together! I love Clare and Jax - put them together and I'm a happy camper!
Now for the meat of the matter, how amazing was Dean and Riker! They were so right for each other. All of Dean's issues made so much sense in hindsight. I was just so sorry that he had to go through all of that. What kind of mother does that? Ugh. Riker, your bad dream had me feeling for you on so many levels. You were so adorable as a little kid. And as a tattooed singer now, you're super hot and so perfect for Dean.
I loved reading the snip bits of Damon and Jason. They are so adorable together, I just love when Damon is all alpha on J. Sigh. That ending though, whew, I was holding my breath but it turned out so hot! Lol I have to say, I enjoyed every page of this book. 5 beautiful stars!

This was an excellent story. I would have given it five stars if not for the formatting errors. They ruined the flow of the story and frankly confused me at times. The writing, characters, and plot were top notch. I found myself tearful in that lovely, heartbreaking way on more than one occasion. Which shows how relatable the story was. It was on another level than the first book of the series, even though the first one didn't have all those errors. Worth it anyway.
The plot and the characters were likable. Dean's losses and Riker's fear of rejection kept the tension and need between them interesting. That being said, there were places where "my" was used, though the story was written in third person, "Dean" was used when it should've been Riker, and places where the formatting was terrible. I didn't read the first one, but I strongly suggest the author ask someone to beta read for grammar, punctuation, and formatting.

This is the first true 5 star read I've had in a long time.
I REALLY enjoyed "Always" and by the time I'd finished it I hoped so much that Dean found someone who would love him because it was so obvious he kept everyone at arms length. I also loved his relationship with Jason, Clare and the type of friendship he had with Damon, and it was so nice to see Damon and Jason still as in love as ever.
So, how this starts... Dean gets a call from his bestie from the all boys school that he went to Jax... he'd just caught his girlfriend cheating on him so he needed to get away for a while, deciding to go visit his brother who he didn't have the closest relationship with, he wanted Dean to come along. Dean, needing to get away from all the lovey dovey junk of Jason and Damon, decided to go with him. Where he met Riker. Riker, big and tattoo'd and lead singer in a band? Yes please! The problem? He was straight, or... hiding a part of himself that he tried for years to forget after a tramatic experience when he was a kid... Didn't take long for Dean to break those walls down though and it was amazing to read about.....
Then, something terrible happens and Dean has to go back home, my heart absolutely breaks for Dean once we start to figure him out little by little. His parents are awful and I really hoped that they'd get the wakeup call they so desperately needed but it never happened. I cried my eyes out at the letter Uncle Daniel left for Dean though, my heart broke a little bit for him too. And Riker was there for him the whole time, being amazing and everything he needed when he needed him the most. He was so sweet and patient, I couldn't believe Dean had it in him to push him away, even though I understood it I still hated it for both of them because they needed each other.
Of course though, it worked out in the end, Dean realizes with the help of a therapist and a swift kick in the butt by Jason lol that he loved Riker and he goes back to get his man... even though at first, I knew it'd be hard... it was beautiful though, this whole story was and it really takes a lot for me to get invested in a story so much, especially a relatively short one, but one I picked this one up, I couldn't put it down... I loved every second of it!!!

Love this short story. I felt the headaches and the love. Love the characters. Found myself wanting to jump in the story and kick a couple of characters for various reasons. Loved the ending. Is there another book in this series? I can see where there could be.
If you're into stories where there's some cheating and something love triangle-ish going on due to the cheating factor, then I'm sure this is the book for you. However, since I usually avoid books like that, this one was not the book for me.
The other thing that bothered me, was the editing. I think someone should check the entire story once more because there was more than one occasion where wrong words or names were used. And maybe add a bit more "flesh" to the story?
I've come to ENJOY reading romantic books of male on male LOVE. This one is a KEEPER! There's so much to experience,..... death, avoidance, acceptance, true friendships, deadly irresponsible pathetic parents, a loving understanding uncle, strength, courage, facing of fears, etcetera. And let's not forget the rainbows. Beautiful, glorious rainbows after the storms of living life and stepping out, in spite of uncertainty. Also, taking hold of the blessings, after learning the lessons and getting the pots of life's gold. Well, what are you waiting for,......HITCH your eyes to this book and enjoy the ride. OH YEAH, DON'T FORGET THE SEATBELTS!
